Dear All,

Here are the minutes from last week’s meeting (also on indico):

Regards,
Stefan

Dan Lis—Simulation update (see slides)
———————————————————————————
- new angular and energy distribution
- comparison of muon peak at 4 and 40 GeV:  at 40 GeV platform is same in lower and upper towers

ACTION ITEMS:
- include reference
- include comparison of angular shapes
- slide 4:  why channel 1 different?

Ejiro—simulation update (see slides)
————————————————————————
- comparison with Dan’s simulation:  means similar

ACTION ITEMS:
- compare full distribution (not just one parameter):  Ejiro
- why South-North difference:  Dan

Saif—PR correction (see slides)
—————————————————————
- PR now also corrected for tiles that had earlier threshold correction
- width now narrower

ACTION ITMES:
- is narrowing of width quantitatively what one would expect from width of PR distribution:  Saif
- renormalize PR to average at unity for every tile shape:  Saif
- include corrected PR in tile installation db:  Dan Richford

Hanpu—analysis update (see slides)
————————————————————————
- higher level of low-E platform in lower towers in data is consistent with lower towers’ having platform in simulation (Dan Lis) (and lower towers not)
- edge towers (B32) show elevated level of low-E platform in both upper and lower tower
CONCLUSION:  observations consistent with cause for low-E platform being combination of muons depositing less energy in lower tower b/c of energy loss in upper tower; and muons depositing less energy b/c of trajectory only going through part of tower
- distributions of PR-corrected MPV by tile shape
  - broken down in production and preproduction
  - observation: preproduction tiles perform worse even after PR correction
CONCLUSION:  PR correction not perfect

ACTION ITEMS:
- three versions of mean MPV vs sector # plot:
  - 1) raw
  - 2) PR corrected
  - 3) PR and temperature corrected
- update plots of  PR-corrected MPV distributions (per sector) once PR entries in db are fixed
