All,
as we had planned, we regrouped today (and added Emma and Hanpu to the crew) and took LED data. We also figured out the strange issue we had Friday and re-ran the pulser data. Finally, per request from Bill, we took pedestal data, low- and high-gain.
Along the way we made and ran with the final packet id assignments as they will be in the future so we can make the reco and calibration software with the right ids.
As I note in the updated slides: with a few new faces on board, we actually ran the full Run Control. With just one RCDAQ instance and the GL1/GTM in the mix, we don't usually bother, but it was good to see it at work, rock-solid.
The updated slides are in the same place/name as advertised below.

Dear all,
to close out the week with some more good news -
After today's ribbon-cutting event, Stefan, Dan (Richford), Silas, and I spent the afternoon reading out the west half of the Outer HCal with the "real" DAQ system, using pulser data. In this morning's Commissioning Task Force meeting, Stefan had outlined the cabling-checking and other test procedures, where this exact setup will be used.
For today, we concentrated on pulser data, where charge is injected into the preamps. We ran out of steam also trying the LEDs today as it was getting late. We will continue to work on this on Monday.
In addition to the Outer HCal, this is using and exercising most of the elements of the real DAQ system - the readout through the DCM2s, the GL1 and the GTM, firing test pulses and the readout via modebits, the clock fanout, Steve's test pulse generator, and also some online monitoring.
We also succeeded in exercising a timing-in procedure that has been outlined at the Dec. collaboration meeting.
To the best of our knowledge, this is the largest "piece of sPHENIX" read out together so far. The east half can follow as soon as the fibers are hooked up.
A few summary slides of what we did, how this works, and a quick look at the data are at
