Hello,

Here the minutes of the commissioning part of the meeting (also on indico):

Best regards,
Stefan
Minutes of 20231127 Calo Commissioning Meeting
1) Report on pedestal data taking effort from two weeks ago--Dan Lis
- see also report at last DAQ meeting:  https://indico.bnl.gov/event/21254/
- most problematic channels due to software issue
  - work-around for now
  - Chi also working on firmware fix
- remaining channels likely hardware failures
  - however Eric suggested issues could also be due to noise
  - tests needed to confirm hardware issues before changing boards
  - if boards need to be removed, this will be done in January
  - John points out that crosstalk studies have been done on the bench
    - in situ studies can be done with LED data and masking
  - Sean cautions to not disconnect Meritec cables at detector end

2) cosmics trigger support for TPC
- ongoing, has been working well so far with mix of in person and remote
support, expect more to come this week

2) runlist--Blair's question
- Chris:  current run list based on ls in commissioning directory
- John:  two data bases
  - Martin's:  http://www.sphenix-intra.bnl.gov:7815/cgi-bin/run_info.py
  - John's (from before Martin's was online):

Dear All,

After the Calo Calib discussion, there will be an opportunity to have our bi-weekly Calo Commissioning discussion:

Same here:  no requests to talk that I have seen.

There has been great progress on the ADC side from the pedestal data taking effort two weeks ago, as discussed in the last DAQ meeting.*  From that, it sounds like the majority of the problematic towers that showed up in the last run are due to a software problem in the ADC setup, which can be fixed and thus won’t be an issue in the next run.  If there is any news on plans for repairing or replacing the remaining problematic boards, it would be good to report it here.

Best regards,
Stefan

Dear all,

I would at least like to present the idea of having a formal Calo Calib meeting tomorrow, Monday, 27th at 11:00 am.  I have received no requests for presentations as of yet.  But regardless there are things I would like to informal discussion about.

  1. A technical discussion with Justin about work on implementation of automated sphenix git EMCal calibration, which we have been working hard on over the last week (after the following items).
  2. A verbal update on a sphenix git implementation of the HCal cosmics  (Hanpu and Shuhang).
  3. What  we would like to highlight at the collaboration meeting from this group
  4. Workfest following collabortaion meeting.

Best,
Blair & Anthony
