Dear all,

I have re-run the EMCal calibration procedure which has updated the calibration for most useful physics runs.  To include this calibration into your analysis is simple (see below). This is not the final calibration but fixes most of the major deficiencies of the previous calibration. Some of these include,
  1. a clear forward/backward asymmetry
  2. missing calibrations for tower eta index 8 and 95

Before the final calibration, we expect an update to the pi0 target mass and inclusion of position dependent correction, which should be possible in a couple of weeks.

I also encourage you to use the latest production, ana395, for any analysis related to EMCal.  This does not have the new calibration by default, but has significant improvements in hot channel masking and channels that are masked in 395 are not calibrated.

To include the new calibration, see the twiki: https://wiki.sphenix.bnl.gov/index.php/Calorimeter-Software
The run lists are here: https://github.com/sPHENIX-Collaboration/macros/tree/master/calibrations/calo/emcal_calib_year1/runLists

Best,
Blair
