Dear Colleagues:

I have agreed to chair a committee charged with developing bylaws for a new
“sPHENIX” collaboration. (I put “sPHENIX” in quotes in order to indicate that
I am aware of the need to move beyond this name, but until there is a new
name I may use sPHENIX without quotes in the future out of convenience.)

As agreed upon at the just-completed IB meeting, the first step is for John
Harris and me to create a slate of members for the bylaws committee to be
approved by the IB. Please send your suggestions for members to John and me
privately. I have included our email addresses in the CC field of this
message. We would like to move forward quickly, so your prompt response would
be most appreciated.
