Dear IB representatives,

As discussed at the sPHENIX collaboration meeting, below are the instructions on how to vote for the spokesperson election.

Only the IB representative listed in the sPHENIX phonebook (https://phonebook.sdcc.bnl.gov/sphenix/client/) can vote on behalf of your institute. Votes from anyone else will not be considered.

I have created a private email list that includes the SP election nominating committee members (myself, Rosi, Yuko, and Tanner) at sphenix-spokesperson-nominating-committee AT lists.bnl.gov. No one else can be a member of this list or access its content.

To cast your vote, please follow these steps:

  1. Send an email to the list  sphenix-spokesperson-nominating-committee AT lists.bnl.gov
  2. Use the following subject line: Vote for sPHENIX Spokesperson - Round 1 - Institution XX (replace XX with your institution's name).
  3. In the content of the email, include:
  • ONE choice among the following options:
  • Dennis Perepelitsa & Anne Sickles
  • Megan Connors & Jin Huang
  • Stefan Bathe & Hugo Pereira Da Costa
  • None
State your name and surname to confirm that you are the IB representative, in case your email address is not the one listed in the phonebook.

The voting for the first round will take place from December 18, 2024, to January 6, 2025.

If a candidate pair receives more than 50% of the votes, we will announce the winner on January 7, 2025.

If no candidate receives more than 50% of the votes, the top two vote-getters will be announced on January 7, and we will initiate a second round of the election. You will receive more details about the second round, if necessary, in due time.

Let me know if you need additional clarifications.

Maria Chamizo-LLatas (chair, BNL),

Rosi Reed (Lehigh University),

Yuko Sekiguchi (RIKEN),

Tanner Mengel (UT Knoxville)
