Dear Colleague,

The Executive Committee of the MIT Pappalardo Fellowships in Physics invites faculty and senior researchers within physics, astronomy or related fields to submit nominations for the 2020-2023 MIT Pappalardo Fellowships in Physics competition.

Nominees should be young scientists of exceptional ability, at the beginning of their careers, who currently have or will have received a doctoral degree in physics, astronomy or related fields by September 1, 2020.

Candidates are nominated using the online form located at:

The nomination deadline is Friday, SEPTEMBER 6, 2019.

Please note:

(1) Candidates for the MIT Pappalardo Fellowships competition do need to be nominated by a faculty member or senior researcher within physics, astronomy or related fields; self-nominations are not accepted.

(2) Your letter of reference for your nominee is not required at the time you submit the online nomination form.

Instead, your nominee will submit your name and contact information to academicjobsonline.org (AJO). AJO will then email you directly with instructions on how to upload your letter to its secure web locker designated for the 2020-2023 MIT Pappalardo Fellowships faculty referee letters.

(3) Current MIT graduate students and postdoctoral researchers, or those who have already received an offer for a postdoctoral position from an MIT faculty member, will only be considered by the Committee under exceptional circumstances.

For additional details on the MIT Pappalardo Fellowships program, please visit the program’s web page at:

Thank you for your participation in the 2020-2023 MIT Pappalardo Fellowships in Physics competition.

Sincerely,

Professor Pablo Jarillo-Herrero, Chair
MIT Pappalardo Fellowships Executive Committee
