Hi Everyone

Brookhaven National Lab is seeking a post-doc to work in the Electronics Detector Group (EDG) and in close collaboration with the Computer Science Initiative. The topic of work relates to developing a novel AI/ML technique with an initial application to LArTPC detector data from MicroBooNE, ProtoDUNE, ICARUS, and other existing and future experiments in which BNL is involved.

The successful candidate also has the opportunity to apply the new technique in the domains of the sPHENIX TPC simulation and simulation of the modification of jets in the heavy-ion collisions.

The goal of the work is to understand and solve the difficult problems related to the use of imperfect simulations to train generative AI/ML networks that ultimately get applied to real data. A review of the applicants will start on January 4, 2021 and continue until the position is filled. More details about the position can be found in the job posting:

Please forward this to interested and qualified candidates.

Best regards

Jin
