Nuclear Physics Post-Doc Position at UCLAThe nuclear physics group at UCLA invites application for a post-doc position in experimental physics working at RHIC and EIC. Candidates should have a Ph.D. degree in high energy particle or nuclear physics within past three years. The UCLA group is working on the STAR and the sPHENIX experiment at RHIC, and is a member of the ATHENA collaboration at EIC. The group is also active in the UC EIC Consortium developing a scientific research program at EIC jointly with other UC campuses. The successful candidate is expected to spend 50% time on EIC program including simulations and hardware project related to the development of a calorimeter system in the hadron endcap region within the ATHENA detector configuration. The other 50% time may be devoted to the current RHIC STAR/sPHENIX research program depending on candidate’s interest and experience.Candidates should submit a CV and a brief description of research interest to Professor Huan Zhong Huang electronically at huang AT physics.ucla.edu. Please also arrange for three recommendation letters to be sent to Professor Huang. The position will remain open until filled. To ensure full consideration, application must be received by July 15, 2021.
