Description
The Department of Physics at Yale University invites applications for a faculty appointment in the area of experimental nuclear physics. Applications will be considered at the Assistant Professor level.
The areas of interest for this search include experimental topics in Hot and Cold QCD research broadly defined, such as those currently, but not exclusively, underway at BNL, JLAB, CERN and GSI. The successful candidate is expected to initiate a vibrant research group at the Yale Wright Laboratory, be an engaged member of the Physics Department and contribute to teaching at the undergraduate and graduate levels. Yale is engaged in campus-wide cross-cutting investments in instrumentation development including significant new investment in the Wright Laboratory which houses unique on-site state- of-the-art research facilities, technical infrastructure, and interaction spaces to support innovative instrument development, experimental research, and training of the next generation of scientists.
We are especially interested in candidates who contribute to the diversity and excellence of our academic community through their research, teaching, and/or service. To promote diversity, the Department especially welcomes applications from women, persons with disabilities, protected veterans, and underrepresented minorities. Applicants must hold a PhD or an equivalent degree at the time of the hire. The anticipated start date is July 1, 2023.
Applicants should create a profile in Interfolio http://apply.interfolio.com/113692 and upload a cover letter, CV and publication list, a statement of current and future research plans (up to 3 pages), a teaching/mentoring statement (up to one page), a diversity statement (up to one page), and up to five publications. Applicants are encouraged to annotate their publication list to highlight their contributions on large collaboration papers. Applicants should also arrange for three referees to upload letters of recommendation by the due date. Applications that are complete by November 1st, 2022 will receive full consideration, but review of applications will continue until the
