GSU Nuclear Physics Post-Doc Opportunity
The
Experimental Nuclear Physics Group in the Department of Physics and
Astronomy at Georgia State University (GSU) invites applications for a
postdoctoral position in Relativistic Heavy Ion Physics. GSU is active
in the PHENIX, sPHENIX, and ePIC collaborations. GSU has been a leader
in the research and development as well as construction of the sPHENIX
hadronic calorimeters and related subsystems in ePIC. The postdoc will
lead analysis of the recent sPHENIX p+p and Au+Au data which aligns with
the existing group expertise on jet, photon and heavy flavor physics.
The
candidate must have a Ph.D. in experimental nuclear physics or a
related field before starting this position. Support for this position
is immediately available but an agreeable start date for this position
will be determined with the successful candidate.
Applicants
should submit a CV and a brief description of research experience and
interests as well as arrange for three letters of recommendation to be
sent directly to Prof. Megan Connors (mconnors AT gsu.edu).
Review of applications will begin on June 30. All applications
submitted by that date will receive full consideration but review of
applications will continue until the position is filled.
