Hi all,

Please find the ad for a postdoc position starting this summer at the University of Illinois.  I'd be happy to chat with interested people.

Best,

Anne

The Experimental Nuclear Physics Group at the University of Illinois invites applications for a postdoctoral position in Relativistic Heavy Ion Physics. The group is involved in both sPHENIX at RHIC and ATLAS at the LHC. The group has made major contributions to both experiments in hardware and data analysis.  We part of a diverse department which covers many related areas of nuclear and high-energy physics and has strong local theory involvement.

The successful candidate will be expected to take a leading role in the sPHENIX and/or ATLAS experiments. The candidate should have a recent Ph.D. in experimental nuclear physics before the beginning of the position. The Postdoctoral Research Associate is a full-time, benefits-eligible position appointed on a 12-month service basis.  A CV, a brief description of research experience and interests and three letters of recommendation should be sent to Prof. Anne Sickles (sickles AT illinois.edu).  Applications will be considered until the position is filled. The position will start on or around July 1, 2026 . The position is for one year initially and is renewable for additional years.

The University of Illinois System is an equal opportunity employer, including but not limited to disability and/or veteran status, and complies with all applicable state and federal employment mandates. Please visit Required Employment Notices and Posters to view our non-discrimination statement and find additional information about required background checks, sexual harassment/misconduct disclosures, and employment eligibility review through E-Verify.
