Announcement:

RCF Group registration is open: http://goo.gl/forms/5SzP94oiHfq1dB802

Repository update:

Action Item [Nils & Jin]: double check Pythia6 pull request

Action Item [Jin]: Rais a GitHub issue on the NAN vertex

Making TPC simulation working: Mike McCumber

Alan, Mike, Tony and Sourav worked on multiple fronts on the TPC software:

·       Memory use issue: Problem in clustering. Mike found a possible fix

·       HIJING reconstruction: able to reconstruct within a slice of pseudo-rapidity slice in expert mode. First test show encouraging results.

·       Momentum reconstruction issue: possible fix via fixing clustering

·       z digitization and clustering: Alan just proposed fix

Discussions:

Gunther: does HIJING simulation has all underlying hits in the eta slice?

Mike: Yes

Gunther: consider extract projection residual

Mike: need more days in order to get that.

Tom: model for distortion estimation in TPC is ready.

Next:

Action Items [Mike]: Fix single particle performance check:

Action Items [Tom, Jin, Tony]: implement TPC distortion in production code

Jet structure Calorimeter simulation – Rosi Reed

Page 10: How to quantify tails?

Jamie: high-Z punch through could be rejected via z>1 cut

Jamie: how to quantify effect of tails?

Gunther: would require full jet analysis.

Rosi: JS TG plan to study after ALD charge

Page 11:

Need fit on the points to quantify deviation from Gauss

Page 12:

Gunther: Does reduced EMCal + thin HCal response lead to large difference?

Rosi: will follow up

Page 13:

Sarah: extreme thin case needed?

Gunther: not required

Dave: is track momentum using truth momentum?

Rosi: Yes. Full tracking simulation has to be deferred to after charge

Page 18:

Jamie: jet leakage is related to E, not ET.

Rosi: good point.

Is flat plates used in Hcal and does HCal radiation length gets larger in simulation?

Jin/John: Yes. In both simulation and mechanical design

Page 19: post ALD charge, plan to include tracking in jet structure studies

General comment:

Sarah, Rosi: 1-D SPACAL was selected for fast computing in ALD charge. No preference from jet group yet

Kalman filter tests – Haiwang Yu

Page 3:

Mike: be cautious caveats in vertex use in single track study.

Haiwang, Jin: this definition of DCA_2D is specifically designed for fitter cross check,

Page 4: GenFit DCA resolution seems worse in low momentum tracks

Mike: Check efficiency too, in case GenFit included more tracks with bad fits

Jin: Suggest only compare track that passed both fitter

Plan:

·       Check efficiency in DCA comparison

·       Implement primary track fits
