Dear collaborators,

We had a good discussion last Thursday with ALD Berndt Mueller about the 
ongoing effort in the collaboration aimed at addressing his charge.  From a 
practical perspective, there were two main points that came out of that 
discussion – first, the document he thinks will lead to a useful discussion 
is one that details the component options we’ve considered (e.g., EMCal 2x2 
ganging) and for each discusses the potential for cost savings, the science 
impact, and the impact from other considerations; and second, we’ll be 
sending the document to him this Friday, June 3.   We are aiming to circulate 
to the collaboration a draft response for comment by the end of the day on 
Tuesday.   In addition, there’ll be an opportunity at this Friday’s 
fortnightly general meeting for final discussion and fine tuning.
