News (Dave and Gunther):

- Review of tracking options will happen late summer or early fall

- BNL public affairs is preparing 3 stories on sPHENIX for next week

- Gunther will give a talk on the future of sPHENIX at the RHIC/AGS User's meeting next Friday

- PAC meeting June 16-17

- RHIC S&T review August 23-25

Project Update (Ed O'Brien):

 

- Fermilab test beam likely in Jan. 2017

- Further analyis to improve EMCal and HCal calibrations is forthcoming

- Budgetary quotes are in-hand and bidding/contract process will begin in the next few weeks

- The high eta performance of the HCal, 2-D manufacturing of the EMCal towers, and the tracker design are open issues that may impact the project schedule

Discussion on response to ALD charge (Gunther and Dave):

- Discussion focused on the 2 scenarios on slide 7

- Decision made to include both options in ALD response and address triggering/daq costs

- Need clarification on whether the 2-layer MAPS option assumes LANL funding

- Look for update to jet response plots with inner HCal now read-out
