General Update
Recent pull requests in core-software · Jin/Martin: Event headers for test beam analysis · Carlos: TPC code cleanup is on-going, and pull request is temporarily closed during development. To be reopened once done.
· John L.: update on Pythia6 generator triggers
Production Following request from Clustering developers, Chris produced 1000 central HIJING events (0-4.4fm Au+Au) in full sPHENIX simulation. · Location /sphenix/sim/sim01/production/2016-07-12/ . · Example for embedding analysis to be posted via email.
Secondary vertex finding- Sanghoon Lim
Summary: successful test of multi-vertex finding in p+p events and observed quality secondary vertex reconstructed for events with hard b-quark production. Next will try second vertex finding in jets and use to tag b-jets
Slide3: Sanghoon: vertex finder start with 2 tracks
Discussion: Jin: Good to check signalized displacement cut on secondary vertex before going to vertex-mass analysis
Garbor: why signalized position resolution for the primary vertex is wider than that of the second vertex? Jin: Guess two possible sources: 1) while primary vertex has higher tracks and smaller statistical error, finer error in systematics may start to show up. 2) single displaced track may be grouped into primary vertex. Sanghoon: will check with more fundamental test, including use multiple high momentum particle thrown from one or two vertexes.
Analysis-oriented event display - Sook Hyun Lee
Summary: added calorimeter and jet to display from result of reconstruction.
Reference to ROOT/TEve tools: doi:10.1088/1742-6596/219/4/042055
Sookhyun: the event display is a fun4all module. Will upload to GitHub for more people to see the module.
Abhisek: where geometry come from? Sookhyun: Geant4 GDML export based procedure developed by Abhisek
Megan/Jin: it is better to illustrate tower hit as trapezoidal block projecting to vertex. One utility to do this is TEveCalo3D
Slide 7: Sookhyun: it is based on reconstructed event
Slide 8: Sookhyun: Tracks are truth tracks
Geometry Management from Simulation to Analysis - Jin Huang
Summary: Introducing a DST-based geometry management from simulation stage to analysis. It provide full geometry that is consistent with simulation for use in the analysis stage.
Abhisek: Good to check Geant4 tracks not exported as part of the geometry. Jin: The DST storage only containing geometry. However, the GDML temp file that used to import geometry from Geant4 could contain the extra track information. Action Item [Jin]: check and update accordingly.
