Reconstruction event display - Sook Hyun Lee

 

Summary: Thanks to Sook Hyun for updating on the nice event display, despite meeting is past midnight in Korea. The new software feature is ready for a preview pull request for test by wider audients.

 

Slide 4:

Sook Hyun: some time it takes long time to launch display

Jin: in busy calorimetry events, Geant4 simulation takes time. One can first run a Fun4All macro to generate DST file, then read back the file for display to save Geant4 processing time during reconstruction display.

 

Slide 5:

Sook Hyun: truth track was propagated in magnetic field as used in the display.

Jin: suggest not to show truth track by-default, since truth track can deflect or interact with material and produce shorter track.

Sook Hyun: may consider display Geant4 hit instead.

 

Slide 7:

Sook Hyun: RawTowerGeom::get_size_*() is not available for us

Jin: They are not yet ready to use for central calorimeters. Suggest call this instead:   RawTowerGeomContainer:: get_etabounds(i)

 

Slide 8: plan to switch to read size of tower and use length of tower to present energy deposition.

Jin: also suggest to bring the inner radius of the energy block to the inner radius of calorimeters to help illustrate HCals energy depositions.

 

Plan: Pull request soon for preview and general testing
