Upsilon RAA update - Sasha Lebedev
Summary: updated Upsilon R_AA uncertainty with more detailed background estimation. New study suggests much larger background for Upsilon 2S 3S with the consideration of hadron species and momentum dependent hadron ID on EMCal.
Discussion: Tony: revised hadron background seems caused major drop in S/B, that leads to this update Tony: MIE used counting of Upsilon and background events in given inv mass integral Jin: can we reproduce proposal background estimation using the constant electron ID approximation (70% efficiency + 90:1 hadron rejection independent of pT and hadron species)? Tony: also suggest cross check hadron background by regenerating background without anti-protons Tony: what hadron R_AA used in simulation? Sasha: need to double check
Further comments on HF program: Tony: emerging consensus among world experts is that reference should be open charm/bottom cross section. Alice expect to measure open HF in good precision in Run3. Need to keep thinking about open HF in sPHENIX with improved precision in B->J/Psi, and D->K+pi. Need to consider possible PID in TPC dE/dx.
GenFit update - Haiwang Yu
Update 1: return path-length with measured states. Update carried in pull request #201
Tony: how the path length defined Haiwang: length particle travels calculated from a arbitrary reference measurement point, which could be positive value towards the calorimeter or negative towards the primary vertex. Useful for time-of-flight and sorting out track states.
Update 2: tracing down reason of non-perfect DCA and momentum pull distribution by check fast simulations. Result suggest Kalman filter is correct, but the problem points to bias in cluster center and uncertainty reconstruction, which is input to Kalman filter.
Jin: suggest also check pull distribution on pT fit Jin: slide4/5. three steps jumped between the comparison: 1) ladder VS cylindrical 2) MAPS & TPC digitization/clustering VS ideal clustering 3) Alan's fit VS GenFit. Suggest only change step 2 while keep the other two identical to isolate out the clustering effect.
