Brief meeting as advertised. Minutes as following:

 

Recent repository updates - All

 

Merged pull requests:

·       Trace truth into HEPMC records : https://github.com/sPHENIX-Collaboration/coresoftware/pull/216

·       Support a large set of EIC event generator via EIC smear package: https://github.com/sPHENIX-Collaboration/coresoftware/pull/217

Coming pull requests:

·       MAPS 3-D model by Tony

·       New tower geometry by Chris

 

Action Item [Volunteer needed]: build EIC event generator records on node tree and support trace G4 history into EIC event generators, as what we support for HEPMC event generator records.

Action Item [Jin]: response cell ID need from SPACAL. The answer is 32 bit in order to PHG4CylinderGeom_Spacalv3::scint_id_coder

 

Martin:

·       RC DAQ plugins are now uploaded to GitHub as new repositories

·       Dropbox enterprise is available for our evaluation. Potential user please contact Martin for instruction of setting up accounts.

 

Chris:

·       For newer realistic detector, we should encourage use of new geometry class other than derivatives of the cylindrical geometry ().

 

 

3-D DCA - Haiwang Yu

 

Slide 3: illustration of DCA 3D

 

Slide 4: verification of rotation

Jin: please double check discrepancy in the off diagonal terms

 

Slide 5/6/7: observed discretized DCA_z, which trace to silicon detector segmentation.   

Jin: please introduce X,Y,Z vertex smearing in the simulation to average out these discretization effect

 

Slide 7: Still observed a down-going trend of pull width at low pT

Haiwang: had difficult to run the suggested Geantino test with aim to separate geometry origin or multiple scattering origin

Chris: plan to fix it in particle generator.

 

Plan:

·       Pull request on a few recent developments

·       Fix remaining memory leak in the new GenFit module

·       Run HIJING with b-tagging

 

Chris: for the memory leak, if need to run right now, we can try high memory job: https://wiki.bnl.gov/sPHENIX/index.php/Condor
