Recent repository updates

Use realistic geometry for silicon detector simulation:

·       Realistic MAPS geometry by Tony: https://github.com/sPHENIX-Collaboration/coresoftware/pull/218

o   Tony plan to fix a valgrind complain of variable init in digitizer

o   Mike and Jin will double check the cell ID tracing in the evaluator

·       Realistic INTT geometry by Gaku: https://github.com/sPHENIX-Collaboration/coresoftware/pull/219

o   Plan to remove unused variables

o   Plan to make dedicated digitizer

Sourav double checked new and nightly-built libs with the default cylindrical macros.

Gaku: observed a change in the efficiency turn on.

Sourav: may carry change in old run reference too.

Action Item [Gaku, Sourav]: revert SvtxDigitizer and test again with identical macro settings

3-D DCA - Haiwang Yu

Slide 2: updated definition of DCA3D_xy, and DCA3D_z. Observed smaller correlation between two DCA components with this new definition.

Slide 3: problem found, DCA3D_z carry double peak for pz>0 and pz<0 tracks.

Slide 4: use truth tracking and clustering, the problem is gone. Problem should be introduced somewhere between digitization, clustering and GenFit using the reconstructed cluster.

Slide 5: the bi-polar structure is a step function VS eta or cot(theta) at zero.

Cluster pull is fine in r*phi and z dimensions.

Suggestions:

Tony: most INTT are single hit in the cylindrical model. MAPS clustering should be straightforward. Suggest double clustering position.

Gaku: is that related to single/double precision in cluster position?

Chris: suggest check dependence of the bias VS the on cell/pixel size

Hello everyone,

This is a reminder for a regular sPHENIX simulation and software meeting, Tue Dec 6th, 1PM EST @ 2-219

Currently on agenda is continue the study of last week:

Ladder geometry for MAPS and INTT was implemented in simulation by Tony and Gaku, which are milestones we set in the tracking planning meeting early Oct.

3-D DCA fitting and b-jet tagging  - Haiwang Yu

Please let us know if you have further topics to be presented at this meeting.
