Dear sPHENIXians-
5 weeks of fun in the winter wonderland of FNAL is just around the corner. Repairs to the beamline are expected to be completed on Jan 13, with first beam to the sPHENIX prototypes on Jan 20 and running through Feb 21.
The Inner and outer HCal's are ready to see beam and the EMCal crew is working hard to complete the high rapidity detector in time for a Jan 10 ship date. The DAQ crew has also made a lot or progress in getting the electronics in order for a successful data taking run.
There are still a lot of opportunities for people to contribute in the run effort, especially after QM-17. Typical running will be 0700-1900 each day, but there may be some longer periods of overnight running to complete some detailed studies. Plan on being at FNAL working 4+ days to be truly effective.
If you plan on being there, please indicates the days that you will be able to contribute 5+ hours (e.g. exclude travel dates) to the daily run effort on the doodle poll: http://doodle.com/poll/2inumufgkdw8davz
Thanks-
Eric (on behalf of the T-1044 Crew)
