Postdoctoral Research Associate in Experimental Relativistic Heavy Ion Physics & JETSCAPE
The High Energy Nuclear Physics Group, Department of Physics and Astronomy, Wayne State University, invites applications for a postdoctoral research associates position. Candidates should hold a Ph.D. in high energy particle or nuclear physics and have a strong background in the data analysis as well as expertise in software design and implementation. The Wayne State group (Professors: B. Llope, C. Pruneau, J. Putschke, and S. Voloshin) is a member of the STAR and sPhenix experiment at RHIC and ALICE experiment at the LHC as well as a member of the JETSCAPE Collaboration (Professors: A. Majumder and J.Putschke). The Jet Energy-loss Tomography with a Statistically and Computationally Advanced Program Envelope (JETSCAPE) collaboration is a nine-institution collaboration of theoretical and experimental physicists, computer scientists and statisticians with the goal of implementing a modular integrated software framework to simulate transport and modification of jets in the quark-gluon-plasma (http://jetscape.wayne.edu).
The successful candidate will conduct experimental research with emphasis on jet data analysis and is expected to take responsibility in implementing and maintaining the software framework of the JETSCAPE event generator and statistical analysis tools.
Applications including a CV, list of publications, and three recommendation letters should be sent electronically to:Prof. Joern Putschke, E-mail: joern.putschke AT wayne.edu
