Dear collaborators,
Notes from last general meeting, thanks to Takao.

-----------------------------
Minutes from the 24th Fortnightly general meeting
---------
Collaboration news by Dave Morrison
---------
- Two days collaboration meeting to be hosted by LANL.
- 11/13, 11/27, 12/4 (week before/ after Thanksgiving,
first week of December)
- Dave and Gunther are talking with Saclay about possible
collaboration. No news for collaboration at this moment.
- Thanks to Mike McCumber for HF TG convenership.
- Xin Dong is going replace Mike.
---------
Project news by John Haggerty
---------
- CD-1 Review is planned on Nov 7 and 8
- CD-1 review requires the CDR to be completed.
- The web page is setup for CDR
- Ed paid for a subscription. Everyone else will be
benefited from this. Proper revision history is kept.
- Draft should be ready by Monday, May 1.
- Q: Any recent example of CD1-review-ready CDR?
- A: Almost in good figure already (CD0). no management/
schedule/cost will be described in the document
---------
HF TG news by Jin Huang and Xin Dong
---------
- Slides show the status and plan for the HF TG
- Q: Any theoretical progress on the b-jet suppression plot?
- A: Ivan is working on it. It is part of LDRD.
- Updating many physics plots in accordance with MVTX proposal
- Wish list was also shown.
- Fixed GEANT-related INTT digitization and implemented
MAPS digitization.
- di-b-jet simulation is also being studied. Purity has been studied
by Haiwang.
---------
Cold QCD TG news by Christine Aidala and Nils Feege
---------
- Forward sPHENIX LOI includes both cold and hot QCD.
- EIC detector part has no charge
- Can we assume a 510GeV pp run? It would be much
stronger physics case if there is 510GeV pp run.
- There is no clear plan yet.
- How the multiyear running plan relates with MAPS schedule?
More clearly, how many years for fsPHENIX running?
- There is no fixed number. We should layout the physics
programs first, and count how many years we need to accomplish
them. Even it turns out to be 5-6 years, there may be..?
- It's been assumed that the program is year-of-running driven.
The LOI writing strategy will be somewhat changed. Christine
and Nils will discuss with Dave and Gunther to find a boundary
condition.
---------
Jet structure TG news by Rosi Reed and Dennis Perepelitsa
---------
- Much progress on the software/framework.
- Subtraction of the UE background is the main issue now.
- Inviting experts to the group
- Would be nice to see the progress in sub-jet structure after
inviting the experts listed. The topic attracts more interest
since the MIT workshop.
---------
Quarkonia TG news by Tony Frawley and Marzia Rosati
---------
- Main focus on the topic is momentum resolution. Making a
progress.
- The current tracking software gives worse resolution compared
to the reality. Working on rewriting the tracking code.
- It would be nice to be able to measure the open bottom
cross-section. Question is what is the lowest pT we can reach.
- Xin Dong is making progress on b-bbar suppression in A+A.
It would be nice to see it.
---------
Test beam paper news by Virginia Bailey
---------
- Requesting final approval for submission
- Jin sent out an email on Mar 28 on the submission candidate
of the paper.
- If there is any comment, send Jin within one week from Mar 28.
If there is no serious argument, the paper is considered to be
approved for submission.
------------ Meeting adjourned at 1:30pm BNL time ------------
