Dear sPHENX'ers,

The sPHENIX CD-1 Director's review wrapped up on Friday with a closeout
led by Jay Marx.  The two and a half day review was both very productive
and very positive. The experienced panel (see below) was clearly able to
appreciate the intricacies and the great progress of the project, and
they offered loads of well-considered advice.  There were a number of
recommendations for us to work on going forward, but I think nearly all
of those recommendations were in line with expectations going into the
review.  At the closeout, Jay said the panel members were working to
deliver the full review report in ten days.

We've been asked to check the content of those slides for factual
correctness, and we've already compiled some corrections we'd like to
see made.

The review went as well as it did thanks to the excellent ongoing
efforts of the project team and the whole collaboration.  The talks were
good, clear and consistent, and they were based on a solid foundation of
material assembled by people across the whole sPHENIX effort.  We have a
lot to be proud of.
