Subject: Announcement: MIAPP programme
"Probing the Quark-Gluon Plasma with collective phenomena and heavy
quarks"

Dear Gabor,

I am contacting you as chair of the PHENIX speaker’s bureau. Could you please
advertise the announcement below within PHENIX?

Best regards,
Torsten Dahms

Dear Colleagues,

We are pleased to announce the forthcoming programme “Probing the Quark-Gluon
Plasma with Collective Phenomena and Heavy Quarks”
to be held at MIAPP (Munich Institute for Astro and Particle Physics) from
August 27 to September 21, 2018.

The programme wants to bring together experts in the community to review the
progress, discuss open questions and foster new collaborations. The
registration form and further information can be found at
http://www.munich-iapp.de/programmes-topical-workshops/2018/heavy-ion/. The
programme will start with a 3-day topical workshop (August 27 to 29, 2018) to
collect the most pressing questions to be discussed during the programme. It
is foreseen that the first half of the programme will then be dedicated to
collective phenomena while the second half will focus more on heavy quarks.

The deadline to apply for participation is November 27. Please note that
MIAPP requires attendance for at least two weeks.

MIAPP provides financial support to cover part of the local expenses for all
external participants. Additional support for families and for graduate
students is available, the details are can be found on the MIAPP web page. We
hope that you will be able to participate and are looking forward to seeing
you in Munich next year!

Best regards,
Torsten Dahms, Laura Fabbietti, Jean-Philippe Lansberg, Jean-Yves Ollitrault
