- Subject: [Sphenix-l] sPHENIX MVTX proposal
- Date: Wed, 14 Feb 2018 20:08:32 +0000
Dear Berndt,
the sPHENIX proposal for an sPHENIX MAPS based micro-vertex detector (MVTX)
can be found at:
https://www.dropbox.com/s/hr0js41pv3ej9kk/sPHENIX-MVTX-proposal-20180214.pdf?dl=0
(please let us know if you prefer a copy by email).
The proposal, led by the MVTX team from LANL, LBNL and MIT and the sPHENIX
heavy-flavor topical group, describes physics motivation and performance,
design choices and technical scope and deliverables for the proposed
detector. Also included is a discussion of workforce, schedule and cost,
which was prepared under the assumption that the proposal would be submitted
for funding to DOE. We have not yet removed these sections, as they contain
valuable information, but note that these aspects of the proposal will be
reconsidered as we explore alternative funding scenarios. For the same reason
we are not planning to make this proposal widely available, but expect to
submit a shortened version focussing on physics and technical aspects to the
arXiv later this spring.
Best,
Gunther and Dave
