our home directories will be moved to new hardware next week Tuesday and the farm network will be reorganized. It's probably going to take the whole day, take the opportunity to read some articles.

Summary:
The RCF and Tier-3 Facilities will be down for maintenance on Tuesday, 21 Aug.

Duration:
All day August 21 2018

Group Responsible:
GCE / Linux Farm

Affected Area:
All interactive login access to the facility

Expected User Impact:
User home directories will be unavailable, therefore all login and batch access will be disabled. Draining of batch jobs will begin prior to the 21st, and that morning all logins will be disabled.

Maintenance Type:
Downtime

Description:
Home directories will be migrated to a new NFS appliance, as well as 1GbE RHIC Linux Farm nodes being re-IPd and moved to top-of-rack switch infrastructure.
