Hi folks,

this is about moving the passwords from the old to the new system. I assume most of you have done so by now (everyone working on rcf or access phenix internal webpages). If not please do so - the transition is painless. The easiest is to go to a password protected web page, e.g. our internal publication page: https://www.phenix.bnl.gov/WWW/p/talk/papers.php, the password page contains a link where you then can enter your old password and you will be prompted to enter a new one (it can be the same as long as it fulfills the BNL password rules).

After Feb 15th you will have to file a ticket to have your password reset and you will have to log into one of the gateways to change it (which means you need an ssh token which you have to upload, trust me it's more involved than using the web interface right now)

As previously announced, on December 11, 2019, the
SDCC/RACF migrated to a unified authentication
system: IPA. Users who have not already registered a
password in the IPA authentication system, must do so
by February 15, 2019. On that day, the web and command line interfaces for registering an IPA password using your legacy SDCC/RACF K5 password will be disabled.
Users who already have an IPA password registered will
continue to be able to change it, if desired, using
the standard tools (i.e. the "passwd" command on the
gateways, or interactive hosts).
