sPHENIX is a new detector at RHIC.

    Dear all,
     As many of you know, there was a very positive outcome to the
    sPHENIX PD-2/3 review today. We have a few modest
    recommendations to address prior to PD-2/3 approval,
    which we expect to complete over the next
    4-6 weeks. Overall everyone working on the project
    put on an impressive performance. In addition to our high
    quality presentations and support documentation, I think
    that the tour of both the EMCal and HCal factories went extremely
    well. Also notable was that at the Close Out both Doon Gibbs
    and Bob Tribble emphasized the importance of sPHENIX to
    BNL's future.

    On behalf of the whole project team I would like to thank everyone
    who made this week's success possible. This was an important step.
    Thank you for helping to bring us closer to the day we are taking
    data with sPHENIX.
