Dear Ross:

These are very nice slides; I have only truly minor comments:

(Starting with Slide 7): For a plenary audience, best to define MIE
(“sPHENIX MIE Simulation” appears on at least this slide and the next one)

Slide  9: MVTX not defined (yes, it’s perhaps obvious)

Slide 15: You might consider placing a copy of this slide after Slide 3 (LRP); doing this would would help indicate that sPHENIX is a real object before launching into various observables, it defines MVTX and other acronyms, etc.

Slide 29: Define FPC, ROC

Best regards,

Bill

Ross,

Very nice.  Here are a few comments:

- Slide 7 and 8.  I think the momentum resolution and upsilon mass resolution plots are from our current documents, but just check against Tony's talk at the review.

- Slides 10 and 11.  Our handlers sometimes don't like when we talk about anything beyond a 3 year run plan; I think we usually talk about a 3 year physics run which can accomplish the physics program which can be extended to good effect if more running time is available.  Dave's talk at the review is an example.

- Slide 26.  The picture labeled SAMPA readout is really old; we have 8 SAMPA chip FEE boards now, you can find them in Takao's talk at the review.

- Slide 28.  Shows a TPC with +/- 35 microsec pileup.

- Slide 32.  "First set of SiPM's..." seems a very modest statement--by the time of the talk they'll have 35,000 of them; I wouldn't single out the scintillating fibers arriving at UIUC; it's importtant but a small part of the story.  Maybe something like "block production for the EMCAL and tile production for the HCAL in full swing" or some words like that.

Dear Colleagues,
I am preparing slides for the sPHENIX plenary talk at next week's RHIC AGS Users Meeting.  If you have a chance, please have a look at the current draft, available on dropbox as keynote and pdf:
