Ed Desmond is retiring on Monday after many years of service to PHENIX and sPHENIX. For 16 years, many of you woke him up in the middle of the night to ask him questions (like, "What's CORBA, and what can I do about it?") when you were on shift in PHENIX, and he has played a key role in development of sPHENIX hardware and software, helping us reach the beginning of construction tat PD-2/3 and the many, many reviews preceding it.

We're taking him out for lunch at J&R Steak House in Calverton
