Hello everyone

On Wed 8 Jan 2020 2-5PM, we are organizing a BlueJeans-based software tutorial in preparation for the Jan 13-17 software/computing Workfest. The goal is to get everyone up to speed with the basics on using the sPHENIX software, so that we can get onto development work and higher level discussions on day-1 of the workfest. Welcome to join us for anyone who are new to the sPHENIX software universe.

Please find connection and more information at the agenda page: https://indico.bnl.gov/event/7254/  . The session will be recorded for future reference too. Before the tutorial, please try out the software day-1 checklist : https://wiki.bnl.gov/sPHENIX/index.php/SPHENIX_software_day-1_checklist   (user: sphenix , password: babar1008)

Looking forward to seeing you at the tutorial and workfest. And wish you a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

Cheers

Subject: [Sphenix-l] sign up page for January software and computing workfest (and IB meeting) now active

Dear collaborators,

You've heard that there'll be a software and computing workfest January 13-17, 2020.  There will be tutorials following by days of focused work on high priority software projects.  An Institutional Board meeting is scheduled for Friday.  It's not a collaboration meeting in the usual sense, but it is a great opportunity for students and postdocs (and even their advisors!) to get up to speed on some very modern and very capable sPHENIX software.

We have a draft agenda and a registration page on line now

https://indico.bnl.gov/event/7096/overview

and we're asking people to register so we can get a good estimate of how many people will attend.  I expect most people have been to BNL, but for those who haven't been here, there's information on the sign-up page about getting registered as a BNL guest (or getting re-registered, if your registration has lapsed).  Very useful stuff.

Cheers,
Dave and Gunther
