Dear Anabel and EMCal testbeam team,
I have some questions and comments to this interesting work:

1) You have EMCal simulation soft which is tuning to testbeam DATA. Did you evaluate what minimal
photon energy can be reliably reconstructed with EMCal taking into account the electronics noise of course?
What is the energy resolution for low energy photons?

2) It would be interesting to see the matrix of the mean tower pedestal values for your assembly.

3) It would be interesting to see the tower calibration coefficients matrix for your assembly.

4) How do you plan to select photons (especially low energy photons) from collision vertex?
How do you plan to determine a photon direction?

5) It would be interesting to know what minimal momentum of charged particles can be reliably reconstructed with
tracking system. What is the momentum resolution for low momentum particles? These questions are to the tracking system of course.

    The Best!
                  Vladimir

Dear sPHENIX collaborators,
Attached is a draft of the 2018 EMCal testbeam paper for your review. The target journal is IEEE TNS. The paper includes a draft author list. The spokespeople will inform the collaboration on the procedure for finalizing the author list. We would greatly appreciate any comments, if they could be submitted by the end of the day on February 18.
Thanks to everyone who has participated in the EMCal v2.1 testbeam efforts!
Best, Anabel on behalf of the EMCal testbeam team
