Hi Stefan

Thanks for the nice slides. Few suggestions for your consideration:

  • Slide 5:
  • “XZ spatial  resolution [µm]”
    -> “spatial resolution [µm]”
    to use a more generic term
  • “IBF-avoiding GEMs”
    -> “GEMs for IBF-suppression”
    as we still have small IBF in the GEMs
  • “Careful  study of  space-charge  distortion effects”
    -> “Careful  study of  space-charge  distortion effects on going”
    just to put an action in the bullet
Slide 6:
  • Energy resolution for EMCal should use the full acceptance resolution, i.e. σ(E)/E⟩=3.0(0.1)⊕15.4(0.3)/E to be fair
Slide 12:
  • Not sure we have time to update this: One of the speaker on Monday (Xiaojun Yao) made an Upsilon R_AA vs Npart and R_AA vs pT prediction for the sPHENIX kinematics based on a HQ transport model [arXiv:2004.06746]. It would be great to include the curves in the plots. The data points were shared with Upsilon TG conveners in the last Nov. @Anthony Frawley@Marzia Rosati
Slide 14:
  • “  wide  pT range  from  2  –40 GeV”
    -> “  wide  pT range  from  2  –35 GeV”,
    as the v2 has lower pT cut off than that of the RAA due to stat. limit
Slide 15:
  • “Heavy  flavor  correlations”
    -> “Heavy  flavor jet pairs”
  • And the comment box could be
    * back-to-back di-b-jet pairs suppress the contribution from gluon splitting.
    * R_AA for di-b-jet pair invariant mass show strong sensitivity to the heavy quark’s coupling to QGP
Slide 20:
  • This slides has large amount of text which would be hard to digest or quantify.
  • Suggest remove this slides and shrink it to a single bullet to slide 21: “High stat. jet and photon sample also enables further spin physics opportunities, including Jet TSSA, di-jet correlation and TSSA, Collins asymmetry hadron in jet”

Hope this is useful. And enjoy your talk tomorrow!

Cheers

Jin

Dear All,

Marzia kindly invited me to give the “The sPHENIX experiment at RHIC" talk at Initial Stages.  The talk is 20 minutes long (total) and takes place on Thursday.  I uploaded a draft here:
