Dear colleagues
See below. NSBP registration is free for students until tomorrow. Most of you are not at schools with a large fraction of African American students, but there are African American students in physics at almost every university in sPHENIX. I've gone to NSBP a few times with groups of our students and it can be a transformative experience for them. It's also made me a better mentor. Unfortunately, this year is virtual, and, no, that's not as good as in person, but this is a place to start. Please get the word out among your students! Also, please consider going yourself - attending demonstrates that you actually care, and with my students, they got to know me better which meant that when they needed advice or had concerns later, they were comfortable coming to someone on the faculty. I'm going to try to get our students together at UTK to attend so at least we can have some interactions with each other - you might consider doing that as well. Thanks Christine From: NSBP Student Representative
