Hello all,
I would like to submit the poster abstract below to QM-2022. Comments and suggestions are highly appreciated.
Thanks, Ejiro
Title: Calibration of the sPHENIX hadronic calorimeter system
The sPHENIX detector at RHIC is designed to perform high precision measurements of jets and heavy flavor observables to elucidate the microscopic nature of strongly interacting matter. In addition to its electromagnetic calorimeter (EMCal), the sPHENIX calorimeter system includes two hadronic calorimeters (HCals) – the inner HCal (iHCal) and outer HCal (iHCal). Jets will typically deposit energy in all calorimeters; however, this energy must be properly calibrated to get the truth energy.
This poster will present the GEANT4 simulation of sPHENIX hadronic calorimeter and the energy deposited (edep) by cosmic muons. In addition, cosmic ray muon data as seen by the hadronic calorimeter sectors are presented together with the edep in simulation to establish a calibration scheme. |
