Hi Sanghoon,

Thanks for the nice draft. Please also consider some comments from me below in addition to those from Hideki.

slide 4 - “towards a potential relationship with the EIC” - this diagram must be from before the project detector decision - the relationship is not just “potential” anymore!

slide 6 - do the p+p events include the simulated out of time pileup effects in the TPC (& a correction for them)? if so, that might be useful to point out

slide 7 - I’m not sure if it is worth a statement on the slides, but the RAA statistical projections do take into account the expected DY + HF background underneath the Upsilon states (since you write “signal only” on the p+p plot, people might think otherwise)

slide 7 - we are producing some projection plots for the Upsilon(3S) as part of the BUP 2022, but that is probably too early to include here. if you wanted, you could still tease the possibility explicitly, e.g. “Precise study of sequential suppression in QGP - only chance to observe the fate of Upsilon(3S) at RHIC!"

slide 8 - is it useful to write the mass window for the plot on the right - is it 1.7-2 GeV like the plot on the left (in which case the small contribution from D0 makes sense), or narrower?

Hi Sanghoon,

Thanks a lot for preparing the very nice slides!
I only have a few very minor comments.

p.3: Maybe, it's worth putting a small text mentioning some
detectors not in the picture: i.e. sEPD, MBD and TPOT

You can also mention here or on p.11 that we have the
      first b-jet tagging at RHIC.

p.12: "Similar working point as CMS".
-> "Performance compatible with CMS" or something like that
would be better rather than mentioning about the working
points (also since we haven't explicitly chosen the working
    points).

p.14: Further study with di-b-jet pairs
-> "Further study with di-b-jet pairs (mass & pT balance)" would
be slightly more informative, though it is not a strong suggestion.
-> I would suggest putting the di-b-jet figures in the backup.

p.15: 145B events
As far as I see in the BUP as well as in most talks, it should be
141B events. (I now notice that 145B did show up in a previous
    talk, but I think that's a typo...)

Cheers,
Hideki

Dear all,

I'm going to give a talk (20 min. including Q&A) on heavy-flavor physics with sPHENIX at DIS2022. You can find the draft slides with the link below.

If there are comments and suggestions, please let me know.

Best,
Sanghoon
