Dear sPHENIX,

I realize that everyone is very busy with sPHENIX right now – rightly so, and I don’t want to take away from that! I know that there are many HI institutions that are ultimately interested in the EIC but have significant current efforts that didn’t allow them to participate in the Yellow Report or proposal efforts. EIC Detector-1 is in the process of conducting an institutional survey that will be used to constitute the Detector-1 Institutional Board, so I wanted to reach out and make people aware so that interested institutions would have the opportunity to be a part of the collaboration formation.

Even providing just basic contact info would be sufficient for now:

I realize this is a long and detailed survey, but as a starting point it perfectly fine to just provide the information you know - for example, you are not required at this point to fill out the survey questions on FTE's, etc. This information can be updated at a later date.

If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me.

Regards,

John Lajoie
