sPHENIX is a new detector at RHIC.

We are still putting together exactly what all will be included,  but as discussed briefly a recent General Meeting, around the RBRC "Predictions for SPHENIX" workshop linked here (RBRC Workshop: Predictions for sPHENIX (bnl.gov)  which goes from Wed July 20, to Fri July 22, we (some of convenors of various sphenix working groups and others) are anticipating there will be some other sphenix related activities such as in-person ,on-site orientations as much is possible given the state of construction and installation--which may be limited, but nonetheless, student orientations, both general and hopefully some specifics focusing on DAQ, detector subsystem, etc., possibly some workfest-like activities as well, and other activities.  We are especially planning to use the whole day before the workshop starts, Tuesday July 19^th for such things.   Additionally, we are anticipating that since the workshop ends early on Friday, that will be using the FULL  Friday afternoon July 22 for such things.  We realize it got late for this, but to the extent possible,  please try to arrange your travel accordingly if you are coming to the workshop.  

For those with further flexibility, we are still in early planning of a possible Online-Monitoring fest of sorts which we are looking at holding the following Monday and maybe some Tuesday (July 25/26) ---maybe even getting started with that on that Friday 7/22.  More info to come on exactly what this will entail but we think we will ask for some talks to exchange info about general infrastructure for the OnlMon, but especially info/talks from subsystem representatives with information about what their online monitoring needs are.  I also note this will be right before the EIC User Group meeting at Stony Brook for those attending that... (which goes from July26 https://indico.bnl.gov/event/15342/overview    I'm sure we would plan around the that for any time used on Tuesday on that Tuesday)...lots of stuff going on in Long Island in July!
