Hi all,
Thanks for all the interest from so many people on such short notice for the Online Monitoring Workfest this coming Monday and Tuesday (7/25-7/26). We just finalized the training session details for today, sorry for the late notice I had emailed those who
signed up with at least the time last night:
we will hold the training today at 3pm (In < 2 hours)
-- we will try to end or at least arrive at a stopping point before 4pm for those at the workshop to make the tour of sPHENIX.
Martin Purschke will be giving an intro several important DAQ aspects related to the online monitoring, so we will go for the full hour.
For those here at Brookhaven we will meet in room 2-160 in the Physics Building.
For those joining remotely we will use the same zoom as for the workfest here:
We will also start populating the same indico agenda as for the workshop by 3pm, which you can find here:
Finally for anyone that hasn't filled out the signup google form please find the link in the original announcement below (previous email in this thread)

Subject: Online Monitoring Workfest next week Monday July 25 and Tuesday July 26 (training session Friday afternoon July 22)
Hi everyone,
As announced informally in several forums, we will be holding a workfest next week, Monday July 25 and Tuesday July 26 with the goal of further developing the Online Monitoring framework and individual subsystem monitoring components. Anyone is welcome: remote
participation on zoom is welcome, but we also will have at least some collaborators in-person at BNL as well, with rooms already reserved at BNL, and we welcome more. This is a great opportunity for students and postdocs to get their feet wet in sPHENIX!!!
All sPHENIX coding expertise levels are welcome. We will hold a training session Friday afternoon July 22 we ask any new-to-sPHENIX collaborators who want to participate attend (time for that is TBA).
We are looking for more volunteers. As with Chris Pinkenburg's recent requests for the software meetings to prep for this workfest, we ask that each subdetector system identify to us at least one person who can be available at sometime during this two-day
time period for discussions and Q&A. Obviously also, we would also like to have at least one or more folks from each subsystem who can work on tasks related to implementing the online monitoring framework and subsystem components. The possible tasks are
being developed over this week based on the discussions of the past couple weeks and we will be happy to assign . We also welcome suggestions from individuals for subsystems tasks for themselves related to the above goal. For any such volunteers of either
type we have made a sign up--if you can help please sign up here:
The agenda will also be developed over this week but the indico with zoom information, and other information:
The main room at BNL those who can join in-person will be 2-160, the room at the end of the PHENIX/sPHENIX hallway.
An overflow room (2-84) is also reserved so there should be plenty of room for in-person participants.
