Dear all,

As hinted during the last general meeting, there has been a lot of progress with the TPOT detector over the last few weeks. Since last Thursday, all TPOT modules have been successfully tested at StonyBrook, then brought back to BNL. The three sectors of the TPOT detector are now fully assembled cabled and labelled,  in high bay at building 510. This is no small feat, for a project which received the green light from BNL management less than a year ago (Nov. 2021).

What remains to be done includes: assembling the three sector together, checking the gas and cooling tightness, checking the LV, HV and fibers connectivity from detector to patch panel, measuring noise levels, surveying the three-sector assembly, and of course, installing the whole thing in the EMCAL.

Attached are two pictures (recto and verso) of the TPOT central sector, equipped with 4 modules. There are more at https://photos.app.goo.gl/mFnx5yxBNxKA8Div5

Please join me in congratulating all the people who worked on the project at BNL, LANL, MIT, CEA and even Lehigh, and encouraging them for the remaining tasks at hand.

Hugo
