Subject: Release EPOS4

Dear Gabor,

we are pleased to announce the release of EPOS4, with a dedicated webpage:

https://urldefense.com/v3/__https://klaus.pages.in2p3.fr/epos4__;!!P4SdNyxKAPE!ApltIQ-OCQg86YaM6ipfuITnueoQGTu0uqX9U_sbSgA2ndfandbVthVclMlpRD4eu1zp1cHQA_oYuPKwqMI1U3Q$ where you find information about the (very substantial) changes compared to earlier versions, and the link to download the code.

EPOS4 is meant to be a "general purpose" approach, applied to simulate collisions with energies from 5020 GeV down to 4 GeV, for big and small systems, investigating all kinds of observables (soft and hard probes). Detailed results will be published very soon (everything based on version 4.0.0), focussing on results where experimental data are available via HEPData.

Doing "multi-observable" analysis turned out to be essential since particular phenomena affect usually quite different observables. Just to quote an example: both flow and saturation play an important role concerning the multiplicity dependence of charm production in pp, but they affect as well the multiplicity dependence of soft probes like the mean pt of light flavor hadrons, and they affect soft particle spectra.

Some keywords to describe EPOS4: parallel scattering and its deep relation with saturation and factorization in pp and AA, microcanonical fluid hadronization (rather than "particlization").

best regards

Klaus
