Hi all,
We have just successfully completed the PD-4 review for sPHENIX.
We have a couple of KPPs to finish in the next couple of weeks, and
some draft documents to complete, but overall we should be very
pleased with the result of the review. We should especially
thank Glenn for preparing most of the documentation for this review,
and for speaking for three hours during the review today. His
75-slide presentation was outstanding.
Of course what we presented at the review was the end product of
years of work by technicians, engineers, students, postdocs, scientists
and managers. Your hard work made the positive outcome of this review
possible, and is also the reason that a brand new physics experiment is about
to come online at RHIC within the next few months. Obtaining PD-4
is important, but is just a step toward our real objective which is building
and operating a new, excellent scientific instrument, sPHENIX.
