Dear sPHENIX collaborators,
The sPHENIX collaboration meeting starts on Monday at 9am ET in the Large Seminar Room in Bldg. 510 at BNL.
Here are some key points:
1. The zoom link for all days is: https://bnl.zoomgov.com/j/1607899661?pwd=TEQ3ZnVraTN1UEk2ZUlUYTEzMElTZz09 (can be found on the Indico page)
2. The Indico page is: https://indico.bnl.gov/event/17774/
3. The meeting starts at 9am ET, but pastries and coffee will be available in the lobby of the LSR starting at 8am. Come a bit early! We all know how long those refreshments are likely to last!
4. The local CDC COVID-19 community level is still "high". We were hoping things would have improved a bit, but by now, we're all familiar with how this goes. The current BNL rules are:
Face coverings are required on the BNL site and within Lab buildings, regardless of a person's vaccination status.
Face coverings must also be worn in all government vehicles when occupied by more than one person.
Face coverings may be removed by individuals only when in office spaces with floor-to-ceiling walls and fully closed doors.
They may also be removed when outdoors, and intermittently when eating/drinking.
Please stay home if you have a fever or are experiencing any COVID 19-related symptoms and take common-sense precautions to keep yourselves and your colleagues safe as COVID numbers rise.
5. We have multiple rooms reserved for the collaboration meeting. If the LSR seems too crowded, we might distribute ourselves among those rooms.
6. If you're a speaker, please upload your slides to the Indico page. Local speakers should plan to give their talk using the computer at the podium in the LSR.
The AV system in the LSR has become even more complicated and fragile due to changes mandated by ITD - we'd rather not spend valuable time debugging the system!
7. If you have local problems, please contact Mariette Faulkner (faulkner AT bnl.gov, 631-344-4064)
Be careful traveling to BNL - we're hearing reports of snow showers in the region.
See you tomorrow,
Dave and Gunther
