Postdoctoral Research Associate in Experimental Relativistic Heavy Ion Physics & JETSCAPE/XSCAPE
The High Energy Nuclear Physics Group, Department of Physics and Astronomy, Wayne State University, invites applications for a postdoctoral research associates position. Well qualified candidates can be considered for an Assistant Professor (Research), non-tenure-track faculty position. Candidates should hold a Ph.D. in high energy particle or nuclear physics and have a strong background in data analysis as well as expertise in software design and implementation. The Wayne State group (Professors: B. Llope, C. Pruneau, J. Putschke, and S. Voloshin) is a member of the STAR and sPhenix experiment at RHIC and ALICE experiment at the LHC. The WSU RHI group profits from close collaboration with the large high energy nuclear theory group consisting of Professors. A. Majumder, S. Gavin, and C. Shen). Wayne State University is a leading institution in the theoretical JETSCAPE/XSCAPE Collaboration.
The successful candidate will conduct experimental research with emphasis on jet data analysis in sPHENX and is expected to contribute in developing and maintaining the software framework of the JETSCAPE/XSCAPE event generator and statistical analysis tools.
