Dear sPHENIX Collaborators:
Please see a message from Gail Dodge (NSAC Chair) regarding the Nuclear Physics Day on the Hill. If you can join, please register. (Please also note that unfortunately such trips can not be paid for by your federal grants).
Best regards
Marzia
p.s. apologies if you are getting this multiple times but we asked the BNL Users Office to send it out last Thursday but they are still waiting for approval so I am trying to spread the word the only way I can

Dear Colleagues
On October 4th NSAC approved A New Era of Discovery: the 2023 Long Range Plan for Nuclear Science. The new LRP articulates the opportunities and priorities for our field and represents an exciting step forward for the nuclear science community. I am writing to call on you to join an important Capitol Hill advocacy day on November 8th to brief congressional decision makers on the highlights and importance of the LRP. In the current challenging budget climate, your voice and participation is critical. You can read the plan at NuclearScienceFuture.org or at the DOE NSAC website: (top right hand side of the reports list): https://science.osti.gov/np/nsac/Reports
Please make plans to travel to Washington DC on November 8th. You participation will emphasize and underscore the findings of the report, ensuring that federal policymakers hear from important voices like yours about the future of our field. The event will be organized with the support of researchers from the three major nuclear physics user facilities, Jefferson Lab, Brookhaven, and FRIB.
A background briefing will be provided in advance of the November meetings. Our team will oversee scheduling and organizing the meetings with your representatives. Registration for this important federal advocacy effort can be found here: https://forms.gle/iFVn5FWvmt7t6Pkk8 Please register by Oct. 20 at the latest, so that we can organize all the relevant meetings.
Strong participation from our community is vital to increase the impact of the LRP. Please note that this will not be a lobbying activity. Rather you will be informing Congress about the conclusions and priorities articulated in the report. Please do not hesitate to reach out with any questions.
Thank you!
