sPHENIX is a new detector at RHIC.

Hi folks,

one final reminder of what will happen today and tomorrow.

At 5pm SDCC will shut down access to our home directories to move them 
to new hardware. This will terminate our access to SDCC computing until 
tomorrow evening. Existing windows might be somewhat functional but I 
assume SDCC will just terminate all interactive sessions to be able to 
dismount $HOME. Please save your work before then.

SDCC services like Mattermost, the wikis, web servers and the sPHENIX 
log books should still be available

Tomorrow morning SDCC will start with network maintenance which will 
effectively disconnect it. This will affect all services it provides 
(Mattermost, wikis, web servers, logbooks,...). The exceptions are itd 
services (indico, mailing lists)

email will be affected only for users who use sdcc for their mail 
service or have their @bnl.gov mail forwarded to sdcc (like me). If you 
use outlook directly connected to BNL, you should still be able to 
send/receive emails.

In any case - I don't count on being able to work (or receive/send 
emails) for the duration of this and so should you. Likely tomorrow 
evening everybody will receive a flood of emails which were held up in 
the system.
