Dear sPHENIX collaborators,

Thanks a lot for the useful discussion and comments provided during and after the talk [1] presented in General Meeting on 26th April, 2024. Regarding the authorship, we will follow the recommendation which we just received from the sPHENIX spokesperson and the publication committee.

In summary, this work uses sPHENIX HIJING + Geant4 simulation MDC2 data and calorimeter towers in these events to demonstrate the ability of generative machine learning models (DDPM and GAN) to reproduce these events. You can find more details in this paper draft [2], which has been updated by addressing comments received after the presentation. In the paper, we will acknowledge sPHENIX collaboration and not single out specific sPHENIX collaborators.

We are welcome self-nominations from collaborators, who consider they have a persuasive case to be included as an author of the paper, such as significantly contributed to development of calorimeter simulation. Please nominate yourself by replying back to this email by tomorrow 22nd May, 2024 (We apologize for the tight notice). We will add you as author.

Thank you very much,

Yeonju Go on behalf of the paper authors

Subject: [Sphenix-l] 175th sPHENIX General Meeting, today, April 26, at noon ET

Dear sPHENIX collaborators,

Exciting times are upon us!  The 175th sPHENIX General Meeting will take
place today, April 26, at noon ET.

n.b.: There's a new zoom link for the general meeting:

<https://bnl.zoomgov.com/j/1607892568?pwd=M3FkbkZvQVMraXdMVDhkckJnQktsUT09>
The agenda is here: https://indico.bnl.gov/event/23131/

In addition to familiar updates, we'll finish the discussion we started
last time about Rivet and HepData.  We'll also have a presentation and
discussion about a paper on the use of AI modeling for whole-event
generation that references sPHENIX calorimeter simulations.  A key point
to discuss is how that paper (and papers like it) should acknowledge
sPHENIX.  A draft of the AI paper is attached to the agenda.

If you're on site, we'll meet in the 1008 conference room.

See you later today,
Dave and Gunther
