Title: First year(s) results from sPHENIX 

Abstract:

"The super Pioneering Heavy Ion Physics EXperiment (sPHENIX) detector is a high energy nuclear physics detector which is part of the Relativistic Heavy Ion Collider (RHIC) at Brookhaven National Laboratory (BNL) on Long Island, NY. sPHENIX is designed primarily to measure \sqrt{s} = 200 GeV proton-proton and Au-Au collisions. The Au-Au collisions produce Quark-Gluon Plasma (QGP) - a short-lived, hot, dense partonic medium which evolves similar to a liquid with near zero viscosity. The proton-proton collisions serve as a reference point. In particular, the QGP is studied via internally generated probes - produced from out-of-equilibrium high momentum transfer partonic scatterings within itself. These scatterings produce collimated sprays of hadrons (jets) and high momentum heavy flavor hadrons which sPHENIX uses as its primary physics program. This talk will give an overview of the sPHENIX detector as well as present preliminary results from its 1st and 2nd years of running."
