Dear PPG03 colleague

Sorry to post this in the list, but not in the Invenio.

(Though I have consulted with Anne et al. (incl. Dave and John)
about current situation where no connectivity to the ppg03's Invenio
entries, the situation seems to be not-yet fixed).

The followings are the comments for the PPG03 first release,

--- --- Comments, for ppg03 first release --- ---
[[ Type-I, substantial-type ]]
No major comments related to this type. (The methodologies
are well prepared.)

(1) If (and only if) possible, the interpretation (understood
reasoning) for slightly-decreasing trend in "EMCal-only"'s rapidity
 distribution (namely, Fig3 most-left figure),
 would be better described
either in the section 4 (Systematic uncertainties, around LL227-246)
or in the section 5 (Results, around LL255-262)

[[ Type-II, editorial-type ]]

(2) LL221-253 and Table 2
The main text is not itemized but vaiguely categorized by paragraphs (with a single blank
line at each head) by "black dot (L221, L227, and L247),
but it's better to be itemized in "numbered" or in "alphabet-ized", each of which
is ALSO better shown in Table 2. For the general readers, it is convenient to have easy
correspondences between explanation (shown in the main text) and extracted value (shown in Table 2)

(3) L238, and Table2's word "Z.S."
The abbreviated word "Z.S." in the table2 would be something about "(L238) evaluated by varying the
zero-suppression threshold". The abbreviated "Z.S." is better to be explained (in main text or in the figure caption.)

(4) Abstract (its last line),L292, and Fig-4(b).
"improved precision in low-N_{part} events (in Abstract, its last line)"
"improved uncertainties in peripheral events (in L292)"
Those statement is one of key in this paper, so it would better to be shown CLEARLY
in the Fig 4(b).

(5) In Reference (LL297-392)
What is the number at the very end of EACH reference ?
(E.g. for Ref[1], the "1" at the end of L300.)
(Other e.g. for Ref[4], the "1, 3.1, 5" at the end of L310.)

--- --- End of Comments, for ppg03 first release --- ---

Sincerely,
Susumu SATO.

Subject: [[Sphenix-l] ] First circulation of PPG03: dETdeta Measurement in Au+Au Collisions at √s_NN = 200 GeV

Dear sPHENIX collaborators,

We are very excited to announce the first internal circulation of PPG03: "Measurement of dETdeta in Au+Au Collisions at √s_NN = 200 GeV with the sPHENIX detector" for collaboration review. The intended journal for this paper is Physical Review C.

The internal analysis note can be found here: https://sphenix-invenio.sdcc.bnl.gov/records/8sark-8re40

We look forward to comments from the collaboration on this paper draft. Please use the invenio conversation tab location on the paper draft to include comments for ease in documentation of collaboration comments and PPG responses.

Thank you,
PPG03: Emma McLaughlin, Joseph Clement, Skaydi Grossberndt, Hanpu Jiang, Shuhang Li, Sam Liechty, Dan Lis, Jaebeom Park, Blair Seidlitz, Stefan Bathe, Jamie Nagle and Bill Zajc
